PROGRAM: Reenactment performance "Eliza Tibbets and the Parent Navel Orange Tree", by Nikki Ott.  Eliza Tibbets' success with the trees contributed to adoption by farmers of this variety of orange tree and rapid expansion of the citrus industry and the historic cultural landscape of orange groves in California.

FLOWER SHOW: Since we have to conserve water during this drought, why not have artificial flowers for decorating?!  Get your mind and hands working! Make a bunch of flowers, arrange them and show off your talent. Or buy some lovely silks and arrange them in a container. There's so much we can do without growing them.

Categories:

          1. Fabric: cottons, satin, lace, ribbons, burlap, most any fabric!
          2. Yarn/thread: Any weight yarn, crochet thread, twine, rope?
          3. Paper: typing paper, card stock, newspaper, magazines, old books, coffee filters, tissue paper, etc.!
          4. Wire or metal: Crochet wire, cut soda cans, use your imagination!
          5. Trash to treasure: egg cartons, plastic bottles, plastic spoons, and more!
          6. Purchased Flowers: Make a center piece from purchased items.

PHILENTHROPIC PROJECT: 
Clubs are requested to bring new bath towels and wash cloths for the Salvation Army emergency / transitional living center. A basket for donations of personal needs items will be available at all conferences.


MEAL RESERVATIONS: Cost of meal $10.00, cost of registration $3.00 : total cost $13.00.  Call Claire at (909) 783-2176 or e-mail her at Kidd-schliemrn@roadrunner.com .  Print the
Meal & Reservation form, complete it and mail it and one Club check, payable to San Bernardino District CFWC, to: District Financial Secretary, Claire Kidd, 12740 Garden Ave., Grand Terrace, CA 92313. Reservations must be postmarked no later than July 18, 2014. 

FEDERATION FAIR: Clubs may rent table space at this conference for your Ways and Means. Send a separate check for five dollars($5) made payable to CFWC San Bernardino District to:  District Financial Secretary, Claire Kidd, 12740 Garden Ave., Grand Terrace, CA 92313.  
BE SURE TO BRING YOUR OWN TABLE! 

MAILBOXES: There will be District Mailboxes available at this conference for Club Presidents, District Chairmen and Club Deans. Clubs may share future club activities by bringing 45 copies of their flyers to the Mailbox Chairman BEFORE the meeting begins. 
(20 to go to other Clubs, 10 to go to members of  the Executive Committee, 15 for the District Chairmen).

AGENDA: If a District Chairman wishes to give a verbal report to the assembly she should contact the District President, Stephanie Stark and ask for time on the agenda.

SIGN IN SHEETS will be at the registration table in the clubhouse foyer. Be sure to sign in as this is our official list used by the Recording Secretary to record attendance. Note: District and State Officers and Chairmen, Club Officers and Members make reservations through your clubs. Past District Presidents may send reservations through their home club or through the WeBeenThere Club.

CLUB PRESIDENTS: If your club won a State CFWC or GFWC Award please bring it to this meeting so we may present it to you with San Bernardino District members recognizing your club's achievements.

CLUB MEMBERSHIP CHAIRMEN: Our District Membership Chairman, Wendy Curran, will recognize first time attendees. Each first-time attendee will be given a District pin and a small token of recognition. It is most important that you let Wendy know how many first time attendees you will be bringing. Her phone number is 909-783-6808.

MOTIONS: if you wish to present a motion, please notify Recording Secretary, Janet Tinkham at 909-987-5858 or e-mail her at
etink8530@gmail.com before the meeting begins, and bring her three (3) copies of the motion.

DISTRICT YEAR BOOKS: The District will be taking orders for the District Yearbook. It is free to District Officers, Club Presidents, Past District Presidents, Chairmen of Programs within Departments, Chairmen and Members of Standing Committees, Chairmen of Special Committees, State Officers and State Chairmen residing within the District. The cost to others is $3.

From Rancho Cucamonga: Take 210 East (Pasadena/Running Springs) and exit H St. San Bernardino. Turn left onto North H St, turn right onto W. 30th. Turn left onto N. E St and turn left onto W 31st St. Destination on the left.

From Yucaipa, Redlands: Take the 210 West and exit H St. Turn right on to H St. Then turn right onto W. 30th. Turn left onto N. E St. and turn left onto W 31st St. Destination on the left.

From Barstow/Victor Valley: Take I-15 S. to 210 E. and exit H St. San Bernardino. Turn left onto North H St, turn right onto W. 30th. Turn left onto N. E St and turn left onto W 31st St. Destination on the left.
